Tekashi 69 net worth

Do you ever wonder about 6IX9ine’s net worth? 6IX9ine is an American rapper, also known as Tekashi 69, famous for songs such as ‘FeFe’ and ‘Trollz,’ both featuring Nicki Manaj.

You may have an impression of his controversial behavior and brute-force yelling technique in songs, his conflicts with various rappers, and also his ‘flexing’ on Instagram with stacks of cash in his hand.

In this article, we will discuss how this controversial rapper managed to achieve such a high net worth of $10 Million. And furthermore, what can we learn from him.

Early Life

6IX9ine was born with the name Daniel Hernandez in New York on May 8th, 1996. Daniel’s family originates from Porto-Rico (his father) and Mexico (his mother). Believe it or not, Daniel was actually raised in the church where he would sing every Sunday at the church masses.

When he reached 10th Grade, he left school so that he could pursue a career in music, but the reality was that his mother was struggling to raise him and his brother financially, which forced 6IX9ine to work as a delivery boy and a busboy.

Career Development

6IX9ine has already made his name in the music industry.

Started the Rapper Journey

At the youthful age of 16, he was signed to Hikari-Ultra (a New York record label) after meeting Peter “Righteous P” Rodgers at his former place of work.

Rodgers asked 6IX9ine if he was a rapper due to his appearance which ultimately switched the lightbulb on for him to start a career in rap.

2014 – 2017: First Debut Single ‘69’ and Name “Tekashi 69” Comes From

In 2014, 6IX9ine released his first single ‘69’ and began later that year releasing various other chart-topping singles.

In 2017, he began releasing various other singles and began to grow his popularity due to his aggressive lyrical content alongside using ‘amine’ visual art for his content. This prompted him to change his name to what he is now known as Tekashi 69.

2017 – Mid 2018: Become Famous: ‘Gummo’, ‘Kooda’, ‘Keke’ and ‘FeFe’

6ix9ine’s popularity increased during the end of 2017 with his single ‘Gummo’. The song currently has over 400 million views on Youtube. He then went on to release his mixtape Day69 of which the singles ‘Kooda’ and ‘Keke’ were released.

Fefe’ featuring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz which came from his debut album ‘Dummy boy’ reached number 3 on the Hot 100 back in April 2018. Even though there was quite a bit of criticism on this album, it still managed to reach number 2 on the Billboard 200.

2018 and Beyond: Went to Prison and Still Popular after Prison

6ix9ine released a remix of the song ‘Got it, Got it’(a song he did for an artist called Packman) and called it Gotti in April 2018. The video to this song was interesting as you could see 6ix9ine donating bundles of money to the poorer community in the Dominican Republic. This song managed to reach number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In May 2018, 6ix9ine was involved in a shooting incident involving another rapper. This resulted in 6ix9ine losing a 5$ million headphone deal. After this incident occurred, he stopped releasing music for a while.

In December 2019, 6ix9ine was sentenced to 2 years in prison for various crimes he had committed such as racketeering and others. He was released early (on April 2, 2020) due to the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout the prison, and he was placed under house arrest.

On his 24th birthday ( May 8th, 2020), 6ix9ine announced his return to music, releasing various singles. His single with Nicki Minaj called ‘Trollz’ went to number 1 on the Hot 100 and then soon dropped in the charts a week later. He then went on to release more singles.

What We Can Learn From 6ix9ine

Do Not Let Struggle Define You

6ix9ine came from poverty. His story is literally ‘from rags to riches’. He was raised in a strong Christian home. He would pray to God so much to change his situation. He’s a Taurus, Taureans love security and comfort so living in poverty would never be his future. He used his struggle to work multiple jobs at a young age.

It took for a producer to ask him if 6ix9ine was a rapper (remember, at the time he was not a rapper – he just looked like one) to trigger an idea in his head to become a rapper hence grabbing an opportunity to make money.

What we can learn is that we can use bad situations to motivate us into chasing better situations. Do not settle in your struggle, use your struggle towards your gain.

He has been to prison but yet, still made music. There was even a time in 2019 when he had asked the judge if he could film a music video at home showing that regardless of his situation, he is still going to make it.

What is also good is that no matter how much money he makes, he never forgets where he has come from and therefore gives back to the community.

The Non-Conformist

Sometimes, you do not have to conform to society’s definition of what you should be. His foolhardy nature on social media and all his beef results in his brand being spread. Even though it can be conceived in a negative light, it still makes his money – he knows what he is doing.
